Health Systems, Health Law and Policy – About

My research uses a health systems approach advanced by the World Health Organization and the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research to examine the complexities of moving healthcare infrastructure across systems (from the health to the legal system) in an Indigenous, Arctic context. My research is focused on identifying key system-level issues pertinent to the development and implementation of rehabilitation-oriented criminal courts that have as their central focus, the treatment and rehabilitation of offenders. I am particularly interested in exploring system design and policy development appropriate to regions characterized by remote geography, widely dispersed populations and challenges with retention of health professionals.
